RHS Flower Show guides 2017
Each year the Royal Horticultural Society holds a series of flower shows each requiring a show guide. In 2017 I joined the RHS as a designer and my first main project was the design of the six main Flower Show guides. The brief was to follow current guidelines to design all of the internal pages and the maps (initial CAD tracing done by an external company: Show Plans Technology Group). However, I was also given the freedom to make changes when deemed appropriate. One of the main things I implemented was new colour schemes for each show as well as a redesign of the map. The map was is also rolled out to the signage used on site for each show. All cover artwork was provided to us from the shows marketing team. As well as this I did all repro work, prepared colour proofs on our in house proofer alongside preparing and sending PDFs to our production team. For this I worked closely alongside the Show Guide Editor, Production Editor and Art Editor. All cover artwork was provided to us from the Marketing department and I would work with the Production Editor to prepare this for print.
